Easy Valentine’s Day Decor and Gift Ideas
Valentine’s Day is almost here! Need some help with easy Valentine’s Day decor and gift ideas? Don’t worry! I’ve got ya covered!
We keep Valentine’s Day pretty simple around here! Our household consists of three little ladies, my husband and our dog. So needless to say, our Valentine’s Day is more about family snuggles than romantic gestures 😉 We do, however, enjoy making the day a little bit “extra” by incorporating some of these easy and inexpensive Valentine’s Day ideas below.

Valentine’s Day Decor doesn’t need to be over the top!
Valentine’s Decor needn’t take over your entire home (it’s not Christmas for goodness sake)! I recommend picking one spot of your home and infusing some love into that specific area.
This space may be a coffee bar? A hot cocoa bar for the kids? Or a fun tablescape. Whatever the space, adorn the it with small, inexpensive touches that make a big impact!
How I decorated our home for Valentine’s Day
This year, I decorated our art room, because let’s be honest… our giant green chalkboard is begging for seasonal decor!
I visited our local Goodwill and scored big with some Valentine Day inspired decor! The beautiful, wooden heart tray (pictured below) cost only $3.99 and the pretty Opal House plates were only $0.99 each! These items were the only things needed to pull our Valentine’s decor together! Oh, and let’s not forget a quick visit to my local grocery stores bakery for these adorable, mini cupcakes!
I picked up the red and white vintage oars at an antique store a few months back for $22. They were not inspired by Valentine’s Day, but rather something I simply couldn’t pass up! These vintage oars simply ooze with nostalgic charm, and if you’ve been here a while, well then ya know that I’m a sucker for stripes!
Feeling inspired to hang them and finally give them a home in our art room, I thought “this chalkboard simply MUST reflect their charming, “row boat for two” aesthetic! Thus, “Let’s Canoe-dle” was born!
Easy Valentine’s Day Decor and gift ideas anyone can create!
Don’t have an art room with it’s a grossly over-sized chalkboard, lol?! Don’t worry! Any breakfast nook, kitchen island or table will do! Simply decorate the area with sweet little napkins (I ADORE these and love that they can be reused for summer picnics, birthday parties, etc.!), pink sparkling waters, pink insulated cups (great for hot cocoa OR coffee), apothecary jars (this set of 3 jars with lids is a tremendous price!) stocked with pink candy, hot cocoa and pink marshmallows and voila!
No Kids? No Problem!
Perhaps you don’t have children? No problem! How about some pink sugar swizzle sticks for your Valentine’s coffee? OR, if you are feeling extra creative, practice making a “barista-inspired” heart in your honey’s cappuccino! Not sure how to do it? Check out this fun video for a great tutorial!
Grab yourself an affordable milk frother (we own a milk frother and LOVE it! Also great for the fluffiest hot cocoas by the way!) and you’re good to go! It’s the little things that show your love and these gestures are sure to do just that!
Our Valentine’s Day Tradition
In our home, we have a pretty standard tradition. Our kids enjoy waking up to red, heart pancakes and cute little Valentine’s Day packages. A typical Valentine’s Day package includes: seasonal socks from the Dollar Tree, a cute Valentine-inspired t-shirt, some fun, flavored lip glosses, a bath bomb and a small box of chocolates.
In addition to the special breakfast surprise, we typically decorate the dinner table and cook a special meal (one that my husband loves), in an effort to ensure he gets loved on as well!
Well, there you have it! My simple and inexpensive ideas for a successful Valentine’s Day! However, no matter how you celebrate this February 14th, whether it’s with friends, a partner or family, I hope it’s a special day spent with the people you love!
xo,
Kalyn
