How To Make Bath Salt Using Lavender
Learning how to make bath salt is one of the easiest DIY projects and always makes a thoughtful gift!
Her on our boutique farm (or farmette as my husband calls it) we grow three varieties of beautiful lavender, two English and one French. The fragrant aroma and gorgeous, silvery, purple hue is what first inspired us to plant lavender in our baron fields.
However after planting nearly 100 lavender plants we started dreaming up all of the fun gifts we could make for neighbors, family and friends.
One of the easiest DIY gifts to make with Lavender are Lavender bath salts! The fragrance is incredible and the petite purple petals look beautiful in a jar.
What does bath salt do?
Bath salts have many health benefits. Aside from aiding in a relaxing soak after a long day, bath salts soothe muscles, detoxify the body, hydrate your skin and can also relieve internal swelling.

Materials Needed to Make Lavender Bath Salt
How to make bath salt using lavender?
Lavender bath salt is incredibly easy to make and while we harvested our own lavender straight from our fields, you by no means have to take this extra step. Conveniently, lavender flowers are available online and ready to use!
STEP ONE:
Empty your bag of Epsom Salt into a large bowl or canister.
Side Note: I used this anchor hawking jar, which if making lavender bath salts for yourself, would look beautiful placed near your bath with a beautiful scoop inside.
STEP TWO:
Place approximately 20 drops per pound (so I used 80 drops for my 4lb bag) of Lavender essential oil into your canister of epsom salt and blend thoroughly.
STEP THREE:
Mix in approximately 2 tablespoons of Lavender flowers per pound of epsom salt into your canister. Again, since I used a 4lb bag, I used roughly 8 tablespoons of lavender flowers.
STEP FOUR:
Blend the ingredients thoroughly and scoop into your 8oz jars.
STEP FIVE:
Attach a cute gift tag to your jar with ribbon (I love this linen ticking stripe ribbon!) and you are ready to gift your homemade lavender bath salts for the holidays, birthday (or any day)!
Now that you know how to make bath salts using Lavender, you can have fun exploring other fragrances and the endless gifting opportunities!
